Born and raised along the South Carolina Coast, I make my home there today and wander along the beach dreaming of waves to glide upon and sculpture gardens to get lost in.
Paintings and now photography can be found in both private and public collections across the U.S..
“I get freer… I have this sort of feeling that I am all there now. It’s not even thinking in terms of one’s limitations, because they come naturally. I think whatever you have you can do wonders with it, if you accept it.”
‘What Abstract Art Means To Me’ 1951 Willem deKooning
'To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.' Elliot Erwitt

ARTISTS STATEMENT
I am an imaginative boy at heart, always have been, always will be. Creating something is the only true way that I know how to really express myself. I believe we are all artists in a sense, meaning that we all express ourselves in the work, hobbies, or whatever we do.
I feel I am working towards an end in each piece I begin. The end result is not always as I began with. A blank canvas or a walk along the beach offer a multitude of opportunities--- it’s the journey of creation that brings about the next scene or brushstroke.
My painting is always a little more expressive and abstract than realistic. I allow the brush, paint, or other materials to express the finished work more than the model or scene itself. I will use anything as a binder or medium for my paintings. I also love the fact that photography captures the mood, shadows, and colors of a particular scene. It allows me to express that particular scene in a more realistic manner.
I hope that my photography and paintings invite the viewer to my perception of a particular scene or emotion. Enjoy…….
